Creating Instruments

Please Note: Before creating a new instrument in SID, we recommend performing a thorough search in SID to confirm that it is not already available.

Instruments are submitted for approval from the SID menu.

Open the menu.

Step 2/3

Confirm or select the desired Team before selecting Add an instrument.

*Instrument submissions under SID Community are reviewed daily by LayerJot.

*Instrument submissions under any other private team, e.g. Apple, can be immediately reviewed for approval by private team users in HUB.

Step 3/3

Fill out the relevant information and then Send for review.

*The catalog photo and modified/custom instrument checkbox are optional.

*The instrument will not be available until it is approved by the LayerJot team or a user in HUB.

If a matching Vendor and SKU for an instrument already exists in SID, but you would like to create a unique modified/custom version of it, this can be accomplished as shown above in Step 3 or via the existing standard catalog instrument.

Custom/modified instruments by default are appended with *M for increased visibility. However, any naming format can be used as desired by private Teams. The blue M icon will show in SID regardless of the naming convention, due to the checkbox selection when creating the instrument record.
